FAQ
Will the APDG protect my rights?
The APDG is not a union, the MEAA is the union that represents production designers and affiliated professionals in Australia. However, whereas the MEAA has very broad concerns, the APDG is specifically focused on the situation of design in the film, tv, theatre, event and interactive multimedia industries. Initially the APDG plans to gauge concerns within our arena by hosting talks and social networking. Then, once a picture is painted of the Australian production design scene, a means of addressing concerns will be formulated and steps taken to improve situations where needed.
If I have a query can I ask the APDG for help?
Yes. Send us an email. If we are able to help we will. If we are not able to help we may be able to direct you towards people who can.
What should I do if I do not understand the clauses in a contract?
The APDG is not able to give legal advice. The only advise we can offer on contracts and their clauses is to direct members to the services of Arts Law Australia and the MEAA.
