Congratulations to costume designer Erin Roche who has been awarded a Churchill Fellowship for 2017.

Erin writes

Dear APDG members, I have been awarded the Stuart and Norma Leslie

Churchill Fellowship.  The fellowship funds and supports my professional

development as a costume designer.  I will spend 2 months traveling around

the world to see how other costume designers work and take some

illustration classes at The London College of Fashion.  My itinerary

includes productions based in LA, New York, Dirk Gently’s Holistic

Detective Agency in Vancouver, London and the amazing opportunity to work

with Milena Canonero, who has just been awarded a lifetime achievement

award at the Berlin Film Festival for her contribution to film.  This award

celebrates her work with Stanley Kubrick, Wes Anderson, Francis Ford

Coppola and Sofia Coppola and many other renowned directors.  I hope to gain

new insights into costume design and production and return home to share

these findings with you.  I’ll be posting on Instagram along the way, if

you’d like to follow my adventure.
